The treatment of breast cancer requires a comprehensive, individually tailored therapy that brings together various medical disciplines. Under the guidance of our experienced breast surgeon Dr. med. Claudia Hutzli Schaltegger, our senology team works as part of an interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible care for each patient. This includes not only surgical procedures, but also support from oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, psycho-oncologists, and other specialists. A BreastCare Nurse also plays a key role as a point of contact for our breast cancer patients—both before surgery and throughout follow-up care.
In close cooperation with the BreastCentrum Zürich Bethanien & Zollikerberg and other partners, gynhealth offers highly specialized and holistic care for breast cancer. A vital element of our collaboration is the weekly interdisciplinary tumor board, where all relevant specialists come together to discuss the individualized treatment plan for each patient. In this way, we ensure a coordinated and personalized approach based on the latest medical research and international guidelines.
Our goal is to provide effective treatment that maintains quality of life and supports the patient on her path to recovery. Even after the procedure, patients remain under our care. All information on therapies and disease progression ultimately converges again with us, and further treatments—such as antihormonal therapy and post-treatment cancer care—take place in our senology outpatient clinic. For referred patients, follow-up examinations can also be coordinated with their treating gynecologists, depending on individual arrangements.
If radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or immunotherapy is recommended, we work with various oncologists specializing in breast cancer (also offering integrative approaches upon request) as well as radiation therapy centers. This ensures comprehensive and needs-based continued care, which we closely support.
